What types of events do you perform at?

I perform at a wide range of events including weddings, funerals, memorials, corporate functions, burns nights, parades, private parties, and cultural celebrations. If you have something unique in mind, I’m always happy to discuss it.

How far in advance should I book?

For weddings, holidays, and peak seasons, booking early is recommended. Ideally 2–6 months in advance. For last-minute or short-notice events, feel free to ask; I often can accommodate on short notice.

How long do you typically play?

Performance length varies based on the event. It can range from a single special appearance to a full-hour performance or multiple sessions throughout an event.

Do you take song requests?

Yes! I have an extensive repertoire and can often learn special tunes with enough notice. Traditional Scottish and Irish melodies are available, as well as modern adaptations when suitable for bagpipes.

What do you wear for performances?

I can perform in traditional highland dress, including kilt, sporran, jacket, and hose, or in a more formal or understated outfit depending on the event’s tone. You can choose the style that best fits your occasion.

How loud are the bagpipes?

The Great Highland Bagpipe is a naturally powerful instrument. For indoor events, I can adjust placement and tune selection to ensure the sound fits the space. Outdoor events are ideal for the instrument’s full volume.

Do you travel?

Yes, I am available for travel. Local events to the Highlands of Scotland typically include travel in the quote, and I can accommodate regional or out-of-area performances with additional travel costs.

How much do your services cost?

Pricing depends on the event type, location, timing, and duration. Contact me with details of your event for an accurate quote, I’m happy to provide custom packages.

Do you need any special equipment or setup?

No special equipment is required. I arrive fully prepared with everything needed. For indoor events, I may ask about room layout to ensure the best sound and entry positioning.

Can you play during a ceremony or procession?

Absolutely. I frequently play for processions, recessionals, grand entrances, bridal walk-ins, and other ceremonial moments. Timing is coordinated carefully with your schedule.

Do you offer consultations?

Yes. I’m happy to discuss your event, help choose music, and plan timing details so the performance enhances the atmosphere perfectly.

What happens if weather is bad for an outdoor event?

Bagpipes can handle many conditions. In such cases, we can arrange alternative sheltered locations or backup plans if needed.
